Aziza Brahim @ The Jazz Cafe (18/10)
On Friday 18th October, the Jazz Cafe will host a heroine and voice of the voiceless on its stage … Aziza Brahim is indeed far more than a singer/songwriter; she is the mouthpiece of an entire population who hardly have a voice.
Aziza ran away from the war in Western Sahara and grew up in a refugee camp next to her people, the Saharawi. Today, still in exile in Barcelona, she writes and sings about them for them. You can experience and be moved by Aziza Brahim’s songs and her artistry when she visits London in a few weeks’ time to present her new album Sahari.
