As one of the pre-eminent leaders in the field of afrobeat, Dele Sosimi now brings his funky, jazz-laced fusion to a new generation of music lovers. Being Fela Kuti’s rhythm keyboard player for many years, as well as a long-time collaborator with Kuti’s son, Femi, Sosimi’s musicality is understandably rich. Subjected to the talents of remix artists, his more recent work has also been exposed to the clubbing world, where the funk-drenched grooves have moved another crowd.

On the 15th of December, in conjunction with Afrobeat Vibration‘s 9th Anniversary, expect a deliriously happy union of highlife, Yoruba, jazz, and, of course, afrobeat. With a powerful percussion section, super-tight horns and rhythmic singing sitting across the top like some glorious, audible bunting, this is sure to be some of the finest afrobeat you will ever be treated to.
