There’s no better way to start organising and running events than with artists that you deeply and sincerely admire. That’s why we are simply thrilled to announce that, in partnership with Movimientos, we are giving you the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive performance of Aurelio Martinez and Juanita Euka at Rich Mix on the 1st of February
From 8 PM, Juanita Euka will warm up the venue, smoothing the way to Aurelio’s performance. Thanks to her rich voice and magnetising stage presence, the London-based Congolese/Argentinean singer will show why she deserved to win the Lukas Award 2017 in the Vocalist of the Year category.
Then, one hour later and after 4-years of waiting, the beats coming from the heart of the Americas will pulsate in London once again. It will be a unique opportunity to enjoy one of the greats of the too often overlooked Garifuna tradition. Dance to the warm and gripping rhythms of its tunes and lose yourself in the lively Caribbean vibe.
Aurelio will introduce the London audience to his new album Darandi, which will be released by Real World Records on the 20th of January, and celebrate the 30th anniversary of his eventful career, generously dedicated to his roots and his country’s music.
Open your heart and be ready to welcome Garifuna soothing sounds.
