For ten years Chavo have been playing Balkan acoustic music.
They defined themselves as a one of a kind “Danube delta string band” and became quite popular in the Eastern European inspired London music scene.
But then, 2015 has turned their musical world upside-down.
Chavo’s sound evolved and went electric, their tempo sped up turning out louder, groovier and well-supplied with “omm-pah beats” and their audience has grown more inclined to pack a venue at “3am rather than 3pm”.
After five long years, they have also finally published a new album titled “Don’t Wake the Dead”, which are going to launch at Passing Clouds on Friday!
The event, which is presented by Batov Records and will also host on stage Gypsy Hill and The Din, and behind the desk DJS like Sacha Dieu, Kobayashi and Rumpsteppers, will be a triumph of unconventional Gipsy and Balkan sounds.
