Preview: Camberwell Fair @ Camberwell Green (London; Saturday 1st September 2018)

700 years and still going strong!

Camberwell Fair has been an institution in London since the 13th century, so to keep the tradition going and to organize a festival carrying the same name was quite a responsibility for the Wormfood and Pexmas guys. But, for the fourth year in a row, the London party-starter crews did everything in a good and proper way, and on Saturday from noon to 9PM, you will have the time of your life and will be able to dance the afternoon away down on Camberwell Green.

Just like its hundreds of previous editions, you’ll find a buzzy market, tasty food and drinks, enough fun to let you start September on the right note, and plenty of sounds played on two stages by more than a dozen acts. Among them, the visionary talent of Khalab and his electronic and jazzy Afro-vibes (supported for the occasion by Sarathy Korwar and Tamar Osborn from Collocutor), East-London MC Paigey Cakey, Malphino psychedelic and electro-cumbia, Awale and their Afro-Latin rhythmic explosion and Ahnanse with his far-from-ordinary take on his African and Caribbean roots, bringing on stage the creativity of the Deptford-based Steam Down collective.

If they have continued to run a Camberwell Fair for more than half a century, there must be something special about it… Head to Camberwell on Saturday and find out!
