On Thursday 2nd February, St. James the Great Church, a fully functioning chapel in Clapton, will turn once again into the Church of Sound, an one-of-a-kind music venue where performers play in between the pews.

This time, the British 7-piece jazz band Collocutor, brainchild of saxophonist Tamar Osborn, will play the music of spiritual jazz master and innovator Yusef Lateef, in honour of the launch of their new album. Lateef is known and praised for having been one of the firsts to introduce elements of so-called ‘world music’ into jazz, something embedded in the music of Collocutor too, who stretch from Afrobeat to Indian classical.

Food will be served while Lexus Blondin & Born Cheating will play records before, during and after the concert.
