The Holy Mothership is approaching London. Captained by Dr. Funkenstein a.k.a. George Clinton, the arcane vessel will bring to Earth the full epic spectacle of P-Funk, an orchestral army of unprecedented magnitude, – the legend tells that once a stage collapsed under its weight – including a brass section, several guitar players, keyboardists, acrobats, and female backing singers dubbed The Brides of Funkenstein (allegedly the grandchildren of the 70s originals).

A legend in the same vein of James Brown, Clinton has been the grandmaster behind Parliament/Funkadelic since the early 70s, defining that stream of black music blending R&B, funk, psychedelia and rock with a theatrical flair matched only by Sun Ra and his Arkestra.

The Mothership touches down on the 13th of May at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town. We can’t help but follow Uncle Jam’s invitation: “Free your mind… and your ass will follow”.
