Preview: Henry Wu presents Freddie Hubbard with Yelfris Valdés @ The Jazz Café (London, 28th January 2017)

Owner of a flexible technique and an adaptable sound to different genres and styles, the Cuban trumpeter, Yelfris Valdés, will feature the best tradition of the American Jazz trumpeter Freddie Hubbard at The Jazz Café on Saturday. Fusion, hard-bop, post-bop, and soul jazz, among other styles, will be on the list. Alongside Valdés, there will be Robert Mitchell (piano), Oli Hayhurst (bass) and Marco Quarantotto (drums), as well as special guests.

Under the musical direction of Yussef Dayes and Kamaal Williams (aka Henry Wu), the celebration of Hubbard’s music promises to be a special night for new and old jazz fans. Of course, the sound and improvisation of Valdés, achieved by a long experience and classical training, will light up Hubbard’s heritage.
