Preview: Kikagaku Moyo, Vanishing Twin & Wax Machine @ Studio 9294 (London; Wednesday 28th August 2019)

Kikagaku Moyo, Vanishing Twin & Wax Machine

We are pretty passionate about bands that took their first steps busking. They usually display an out-and-out perspective with live performances and engagement with their audience. That’s why we can’t wait for Kikagaku Moyo’s show on 28th August at Studio 9294, supported by Vanishing Twin & Wax Machine.

The “geometric patterns” (that’s the English translation of the band’s name) perfectly fit the Japanese psychedelic rock scene without forgetting more traditional elements of their culture too. Despite being less rowdy and more ethereal than some of their compatriots, the quintet, hailing from Tokyo, is still able to express all its energy and musical drive when on stage, giving life to mesmerising performances, in which acoustic sounds and electrifying dynamism go side by side.

There’s no need to say that you will dream of this gig for days and days, next to dreaming of Japan and its ever-surprising culture.
