On Wednesday, join us for an evening of Wara and let’s bring back the party feelings!
Between 8PM till 11PM (BST), together with our friends at Movimientos and Continental Drifts, we will go live for a new episode of the Global Local’s summer sessions. This time, it will be all about the rip-roaring energy and positive vibes radiated by Wara.
The London-based Pan-Latin all-female trio have in store a 30 minute set premiering unreleased songs and celebrating good and proper their 10th anniversary.
After having danced the set away, grab a chair and get comfy to listen to a talk retracing Wara’s musical adventure as an all-female band formed by musicians with Caribbean, Latin American and African roots. Listen to their relationship with London, the Latin and global sound scenes, be inspired by the compelling subjects touched by their lyrics, and learn about ElianeCorrea, JuanitaEuka & Fedzilla’s solo careers.
Then, don’t move from your seat because after the chat with the artists, the evening will go on with a documentary by French filmmaker Zoe Fayaud. In 2019, Zoe focussed her camera on the “Wara’s experience” and exposed the soul of the project, its concept and messages, embodied by their scintillating live performances, as well as their reflections over identity and immigration.
We will close the curtain on the event back on the (virtual) dancefloor with a bonanza of Latin sounds presented by Movimientos’ honcho Cal Jader and Colombian DJ Bushbby.
So, book your “seat” (for free) on Eventbrite and join us for a very Wara evening!
