When January comes, we look forward this moment, when we write about London Remixed Festival; or better, when some of our favourite London’s promoters, venue and musicians join forces to give the local music scene the first thrill and good time of the year.

On the first weekend of February, Rich Mix will be indeed “remixed” once again with a two-day event taking full control of the Shoreditch cultural centre (two floors, four rooms and its elevator) and practically presenting every music style you can name given that it’s danceable.

You will listen to, enjoy and move your feet to the sound of 25 live acts & DJs, from afrobeat, highlife and Afro-funk energy dispenser Agbeko to Wara Afro-Caribbean rhythmic explosion passing through French nu-soul vocalist Siska, conscious reggae of Subajah, Palestinian songwriter El Jehaz, a good-and-proper brass and upbeat invasion with New York Brass Band, The Baghdaddies, Full Tilt Collective and many, many more.

It goes without saying that you will party hard thanks to a bunch of party-starters (Continental Drifts, Global Local, Wormfood, Movimientos, Two for JoyVibes and Pressure) who don’t only care to let you have fun but also expose, promote and give a well-deserved stage to some exciting up-and-coming musicians.

Review: Natty, Congo Natty, Mad Professor, Subajah & Trojan Soundsystem @ Electric Brixton (London, 4th November 2016)

Tonight begins with a performance from Subajah, who, in and of himself, is an incredibly talented man. He displays his abilities as a rapper, singer and composer with real aplomb. In an age of vapid consumerism, it’s pleasing to find artists willing to stand up and go against the grain, educating the…
