Love Carnival’s events have had us dancing to Latin music in every scent and aroma, but for the October episode of the grooviest music series in London, the coordinates on the Movimientos crew’s musical GPS will bring us to Uganda and Angola (via Portugal).
With the Nyege Nyege collective, Kampire has placed Ugandan music on the electronica scene map. However, she’s not simply one of the most sought-after DJs coming from East Africa, but also a true cultural champion for her country and continent, spreading her Pan-African and women-empowering vision all over the world.
Rocky Marsiano is instead a Lusphone music time-traveller, able to bring his listeners back in time with his flavourful vintage taste. His sets are Luso-sound adventures, reviving the glorious music past of Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde and updating that rhythmic bonanza with electro-beats and overflowing Lisbon character.
After all, there’s no need for tons of words and descriptions to introduce October’s Love Carnival; we just have to say that it will be the most enticing club night of the month!
