The best music from Algeria will take the stage on the 10th of February when Nazim Ziryab Project and El Foukr R’Assembly will showcase the new sounds coming from the North African country at Rich Mix in Shoreditch.
The final act of a full-day celebration of Algerian culture (Mawaef Multimedia Arts Festival), the concert, organised by Marsm, will present two up-and-coming acts blending together their country’s quintessential sounds (gnawa, raï, chaabi and Sufi music) with Trans-Saharan and Pan-Mediterranean influences.
The result is a passionate and intriguing mix between North African, Arabic and West African vibes, which also portraits the flourishing artistic environment where the Algerian community in London resides.
On the 10th of February, allow yourself to be enriched by a full immersion into Africa’s largest country and one of the continent’s richest traditions. You won’t just simply enjoy Algerian music, but also experience the wider picture assembled by a distinctive identity, next to continuous cultural exchanges.
