There’s something in Omar Sosa’s music that charms and allures you; so much so that you can’t unhook from its notes; it might be because of its rhythms or dreamy melodies. It’s not an exaggeration in saying that you will end up keeping those tunes with you, forever.
Thanks to his artistry, the Camagüey-born pianist has become one of the most appreciated interpreters of the extraordinary Cuban tradition, and in his 20-year career, he could afford to explore many aspects of his Afro-Cuban roots, delving into his country’s culture, as much as Latin, North and West African ones.
On Saturday 4th May, he will visit The Jazz Café, travelling with one of his latest projects, Aguas, together with a remarkable music partner, Yilian Cañizares, who completes Omar’s artistic vision.
