Every September, Joyful Noise reacquaints us with an excellent musical celebration, featuring all-encompassing line-ups, and, of course we were looking forward to the 2017 edition of their London African Music Festival. Even so, we weren’t prepared for such a planned spectacle; 14 events scattered across 13 days and six London venues dedicated to the celebration African music.
It’ll boast the liveliest afrobeat performed by Kokoroko and Afro-Caribbean jazzy connection represented by Omar Puente. Then, you will enjoy the Nubian retro-pop of Alsarah & the Nubatones and the purest Ghanaian highlife played by Pat Thomas. While, Busi Mhlanga will sing the Southern Africa Zulu tradition and Mimi Suleiman will bring the sound of the Indian Ocean to London.
