2 tone celebrates its fortieth year this year, and in effect, The Specials do too, as it is they who brought the style that fuses Jamaican ska and British punk rock to the surface, with band leader Jerry Dammers creating the first dedicated label, 2 Tone Records.

Forty years later, and the band’s latest album Encore reached number one in the UK, their social commentary on racial and societal issues, that is so characteristic of the 2 tone style, seeming perhaps more potent in the British Brexit era than ever.

So, they will headline this year’s Gunnersville Festival. See the legendary band take to the stage, no doubt armed with some classics as well as features from the latest chart-topping album, and join the celebration with support from Ocean Colour Scene, General Roots and The Blinders.
