Preview: Uji / Chancha Via Circuito / Kurup @ Redon (London; Saturday 3rd November)

If you are looking for an original, imaginative and mind-blowing way to celebrate El Dia de los Muertos, Movimientos and Redon have what it takes. On Saturday 3rd November (the day after the Mexican “orthodox” Day of the Dead), head down to Bethnal Green and you will live through an illusory, almost psychedelic music adventure.

Forget about calacas, calaveras y flores (skeletons, skulls and flowers) because you will revel in a less physical but more ethereal experience. The Movimientos party-starters have in store a sensory overload hosting some of the most talented and authentic Latin American electronic musicians and DJs who will play on the Redon stage from 10PM to 4AM.

Uji, Chancha Via Circuito and Kurup offer three different perspectives over the LatAm folktronica. The aspiration of the three acts is to make traditional sounds as contemporary possible, blending their own very local musical roots, overflowing with delicate melodies and palpitating rhythms, with digital beats and deep basslines. No wonder that the notes put in circle by their instruments, mixers and laptops are made for indulging, fantasizing and foremost, dancing.

You won’t easily forget your Dia de los Muertos at Redon.
