If you are a Rhythm Passport aficionado, you probably already know Wara and their very own energising and heart-stirring sound. The all-female London-based trio is a good-and-proper fun generator embracing the Afro-Latin and Afro-Cuban roots of its members and boosting them with London underground accents.
On Saturday the 7th of March, they will be performing at ULU Live in London and share the stage with a likewise enlivening band, Kallemi, a collaborative Swiss-Palestinian project, born between Basel and Ramallah and proposing a blend of global sounds from West African beats, Latin American hip-hop rhymes, Middle Eastern vibes and scents, and Mittel-European electronica.
The night, presented by anti-poverty charity War on Want and two of our favourite London based promoters Movimientos and Marsm UK, will be enriched by a set of the Basel-based DJ with North African origins and global beats passion Leila Moon.
On the 7th of March head for ULU London to get inspired, dance the night away and celebrate International Women’s Day in music with Wara and Kallemi.
Join us for an evening of Wara and let’s bring back the party feelings! Between 8PM till 11PM (BST), together with our friends at Movimientos and Continental Drifts, we will go live for a new episode of the Global Local’s summer sessions. This time, it will be all about the rip-roaring energy and positive vibes radiated…
