On Tuesday 3rd December, enjoy a full immersion into the past, present and future of Japanese music at Café OTO. Throughout the evening, in the Hackney venue, traditional and experimental sounds from the Far Eastern country will accompany you on a journey of musical re-discovery.
Yama Warashi and ∵n∀v∩∴ are two projects redefining what Japanese music is about, mixing the folk repertoire of their country with far-out influences, from psychedelia to free-jazz.
To support their sets, there will be Skylla, the new solo project of Vula Viel bassist Ruth Goller, inspired by East European folk songs, and going far beyond the traditional borders.
