THIS IS A LONDON STORY! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The White Horse invites you to the first instalment of a once-in-a-while session where we welcome selectors who’ve helped shape the sound of our city. For this inaugural outing we’re joined by an incredible special guest, the one and only Mr. Dennis Bovell. From his early days on the legendary Sufferer soundsystem to forming UK Roots ambassadors Matumbi, Mr. Bovell made his name producing a tonne of legendary sides for the likes of Linton Kwesi Johnson, I-Roy, Maximum Joy, The Slits and of course Janet Kaye to name but a handful. He’s been a pivotal presence in the bass-heavy end of London runnings since the Sixties and is a bona fide member of Reggae Royalty… even better he’s also a proud South Londoner. As you can imagine we’re both hugely honoured and incredibly excited to welcome Mr. Bovell to The White Horse for this free entry September session. Support on the night comes from Good Block, so you know it’s a dance from start to finish.
