Modeste is an award winning singer songwriter and guitarist from Madagascar whose music is a unique blend of traditional Malagasy sounds. He creates beautiful melodies & rhythms with hypnotic guitar playing & vocals and is known for his incredible live performances. As the Independent said, 'He's so effective in this musical sleight of hand that audience members scan the stage in search of a (non-existant) second guitar player'.

Modeste has been featured and played live on countless BBC radio programmes and events, performed at many venues and festivals including the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbica, the Big Chill, London Jazz Festival, WOMAD (UK and abroad) and more.

This performance at the Jazz Cafe is part of the London African Music Festival and will be the launch of Modeste's third album 'Handea Hody/ Going Home'. Copies of the album will available for the first time this night.
