Blue Lab Beats present: Jazzmatazz Live

bluelabbeat jazzmatazz

After the sellout success of Blue Lab Beats’ The Sounds Of Jazzmatazz shows in 2018, the duo return to once again celebrate Guru’s legendary recording series, except this time they will be performing a hand picked selection of their favourite tracks from across volumes one two and three.

The four volumes of Jazzmatazz constitute the first project to combine a live jazz band with hip-hop production and established rappers. The hybrid nature of the work demonstrates Guru’s passion and affinity for both hip-hop and traditional jazz.

Blue Lab Beats’ reimagining of Guru’s work will seek to blur even further the lines between these two genres. They will pay homage to Guru and the musicians who helped to create Jazzmatazz, who counted Donald Byrd and Roy Ayers among them, while adding their own unique character to “Loungin’”, “Night Vision”, and the rest.

The duo will also premier a selection of brand new original material across both evenings.
