Lesbian Reggaeton fire, combining sharp lyricism with feisty beats
Chocolate Remix is a Reggaeton fusion project led by Romina Bernardo (a.k.a. Chocolate), a singer, composer and producer from Tucumán, Argentina. Chocolate Remix have courted controversy since the birth of their project with their lyrics criticising the machismo and homophobia typically associated with the genre. Revisiting these stereotypes and the sexual nature of the genre they redefine the genre for a queer audience and tackle taboo topics that often affect the female and LGBTIQ collective such as discrimination, censorship and violence. Influenced by different types of reggaeton, from old school classic styles to fusions with Cumbia, Reggae, Electronica, Chocolate Remix combine sharp political and social lyricism with feisty rhythms!
