DJ Ron / Benton / Reggae Roast / Urban Lions / Freshly Baked

Goodtown Promotions and ShakeUp! present a night celebrating reggae’s influence on the UK bass music scene.

DJ Ron: The Jungle DON! Founder of London Some’ting Records ( a label with timeless jungle tracks like Worries In the Dance and Ron's own masterpiece Crackman) He’s been part of the London music scene since the 80s through to the golden era of Jungle in the the 90s. Currently a regular on Rinse FM, DJ Ron is guaranteed to make the dance rock!

Benton: Bringing the old school rave scene to the new school dance setting. The most reliable purveyor of good times, guaranteed party starter Benton can easily be caught off the beaten track showcasing his true and extraordinary dark South London DJ knowledge.

A respected dubstep break away, he has now matured to pioneer his own sound, stirring primitive jungle beats with his own inescapable basslines, placing him firmly at the forefront of today’s modern flavour. Not content with stopping there, he has engineered his own label – BBS, a SWAMP81 sub label along with Benny ill of Horsepower Productions, and Loefah, releasing tunes such as The Callin’ and KT2.

Reggae Roast: No strangers to The Fox & Firkin, Reggae Roast have forged a reputation as the leading light in the resurgence of the UK Dub / Reggae scene. The crew and their Sound System are spreading their conscious message in the music far and wide, whilst gaining a reputation as one of the key players in the new wave of British Reggae.

The RR team work with some of the best in the business, playing to 1000’s of people at a time, all the while holding down a packed monthly event in London, and releasing music through their Reggae Roast record label. They tore the place down on New Years eve, and we expect the same from them at this event!

Their premier MCs Shumba Youth & Natty Campbell MC will be hosting for the duration.

Urban Lions are a touring band and sound system from England currently rising up through the underground UK roots and dub scene and out onto the world stage.

Resonating a positive vibration by mashing up the sound while pressing their own unmistakable stamp on our tangled roots, Urban Lions are tearing up the dance with headline sets at festivals and venues all over the UK and overseas with a feisty fusion of bashment roots, dub, ska, dancehall, funk, rocksteady beats, filthy horns, skanking rhythms and conscious rhymes.

Freshly Baked: Badman sounds from Bristol town! With a box of 7s deeper than the proverbial submarine, selector Sam Seyah comes packed with an arsenal of rare riddims and exclusives.
