Two musicians with very different but completely original takes on R&B and soul music will share our Knight Gallery stage. The contrasting ways Fehdah and Lèa Mondo engage with and re-interpret their cultural roots make them a perfect match for this inspiring double-bill of unconventional Afro-soul.
Headlining the night is vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Emma Garnett, better known as Fehdah. Based in Dublin but born in London with Sierra-Leonean roots, Fehdah has grown into one of the most inventive artists of the contemporary Irish music scene. She fuse all the influences around her and makes them her own. From traditional Irish singing to house music, Afro-pop to neo-soul.
Support will come from singer-songwriter and guitarist of Congolese origins, Lèa Mondo. Supported by her band, Léa showcases her whole life in her songwriting. Personal experiences, encounters, reflections are set to music and her songs journey between Congo, Manchester and London.
