iyatraQuartet: Break the Dawn

iyatraquartet from facebook event
“one of the most exciting new music groups around”, iyatraQuartet have captivated audiences with their original, boundary-bending music for violin, cello, bass clarinet and percussion, flavoured with “dizzy Balkan revelry” and hints of plain chant and Indian raga. These award-winners dream up pieces of acoustic music and songs each as unclassifiable and varied as the last. In this year when we are again marking the Mayflower anniversary, their name is apt: 'iyatra' is 'travel' or 'pilgrimage' in Hindi. “Break the Dawn”, released during lockdown last year, is their second album.
