About Jyotsna:

Jyotsna is known for her versatility and ability to collaborate with different genres seamlessly and with ease. She is intensely rooted in south Indian classical music alongside having formal western classical music education. Adding on to this, she has flourished as a performer and composer, exploring lush ground in the crossover between Indian music and a variety of contemporary flavors including jazz, Irish folk, electronica, flamenco, blues, pop, Western classical and the ‘Bollywood’ music. Her violin playing has a nice blend of 'bhava' [musical expression and emotion] & fingering technique, a result of three ‘decades of experimentation’ as per a critic.

Dr. Srikanth is intensely rooted in south Indian classical music alongside having formal western classical music education. Adding on to this, she has flourished as a performer and composer, exploring lush ground in the crossover between Indian music and a variety of contemporary flavors.

She has been featured in many major global music events and venues like WOMAD - UK, Red Violin Festival - Wales, BBC Proms, Cleveland Music Festival – USA, East-West International Music Encounter – India and The Music Academy Chennai.

Based in London, Dr. Srikanth has received many awards & titles at National & International levels. Jyotsna is also an accomplished western classical violinist. She has played the violin for nearly 200 commercial Indian films under music directors like Illayaraja, Keeravani & Hamsalekha. She is a medical doctor and a postgraduate in Pathology.

Kalaimamani Shri. Unnikrishnan released Jyotsna’s Illayaraja Hits on Instrumental in London’s Watersmeet Theatre in August, 2011.

Also in August, 2011 - Shrilankan High Commissioner to Italy Designate, Mr. Asitha Pereira released Chants for Children Album designed for kids of the West. Sanskrit prayers with western music ornamentation.

She has conferred a Fellowship in Carnatic Music from the Trinity College of Music, London. She has been training numerous students in London through her organization Dhruva Foundation.
