Lyrical legend KRS-One brings the ultimate night of Hip Hop to South London
When it comes to Hip Hop, no one is as consistent and influential as KRS-One. It is impossible to discuss Hip Hop’s history without discussing KRS-One. His reputation as both a live performer and as Hip Hop’s resident “Teacha” has reached mythic proportions. As author Tavis Smileyhas put it; “You are going to encounter a man who has sincerely sought to develop a relevant, honest and contemporary interpretation of world history, culture, religion, and philosophy.”
At Electric Brixton, KRS-One will work through the hip hop masterpieces he’s created throughout his life – from songs that changed the very fabric of hip hop (Poetry, Rappaz R N Dainja, Outta Here) to tunes that have become a part of hip hop history (Sound of da Police, The MC).
Joining him is an unreal line up of Ty and Blak Twang. Ty,British rapper signed to Big Dada, is best known for his lyrical frankness and honest portrayals of everyday life, making him part of the fast-growing movement of British socially conscious rappers. Blak Twang, famed for his charismatic live performances, is another pioneering British rapper who has fast gained a massive South London fanbase.
Don’t miss out on catching KRS-One, the legend himself, at South London’s iconic Electric Brixton, joined by a string of impressive artists in their own right. A holy grail of nights for hip hop fans.
