FREE ENTRY ON BOTH DAYS. LAST ENTRY IS 6:30pm █The 44th Lambeth Country Show will return to Brockwell Park on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July 2018, boasting a unique line-up that celebrates the very best of the city and countryside. With over 150,000 people attending throughout the weekend in 2017, the show is one of the biggest free family festivals in the UK.For 2018 there has been a reassessment of the security and crowd management plan for the event. This means we have had to make changes to the layout of the show to make sure it is safe for everyone attending. There will be a full perimeter fence around the show site and extra security measures in place throughout the event and Brockwell Park itself. Searching will be in operation on entry, so you are advised to allow extra time to get in. Please be aware of the prohibited items listed in the FAQ section of our website and note that CCTV will be in operation throughout the show.www.lambethcountryshow.co.uk/faqswww.lambethcountryshow.co.uk/terms-and-conditionsThe event is extremely popular with residents and visitors alike, so we encourage people to come early and avoid the busiest peak times from 3 – 5pm and be prepared to queue. We are grateful for your support and patience that will help make sure the Lambeth Country Show is safe and fun for everyone. Last entry in to the event will be 6:30pm on both days.██████████████████████████████ 2018 LINE-UP ███████████ MAIN STAGE █████ SATURDAY █★ CymandeThese British-based funk music pioneers emerged as innovators of the funk music scene during the early 1970’s and are back after a 20 year hiatus. Described as “spiritual… versatile… smooth, sweet and very different”, no-one has yet to sum up the unique sound of Cymande in one simple word or phrase. Expect to hear their classics such as 'Bra', 'Brothers On The Slide' and 'Dove', as well as new material.★ London Afrobeat CollectiveLAC are powered by a promise to continue what afrobeat father Fela Kuti began. From Europe to Africa, Glastonbury to ‘Felabration’, they deliver party-music born of their truly global DNA. The nine-strong collective from England, Italy, France, Congo, Argentina and New Zealand combine Fela, Parliament Funkadelic and Frank Zappa to create an addictive sound drawing on funk, jazz, rock, and dub to create something new and frankly indescribable.★ Amy Winehouse Celebration and Tribute█ SUNDAY - ROOTS DAY █★ Three The Hard WaySunday welcomes back Roots Day to the Main Stage with a very special act confirmed - “Three The Hard Way” - an all-star UK reggae group featuring Brinsley Forde MBE from Aswad, David Hinds from Grammy award-winning Steel Pulse and Dennis Bovell from Matumbi. Each member of this special group are the pioneers who put British Reggae firmly on the map. Grammy winners and multiple nominations between them coupled with countless number ones and top 10 hits either as musicians, song writers or producers give this group a wealth of credibility and worldwide respect. We can't wait to finish the weekend in style and celebration★ Johnny ClarkeOne of Jamaica's most outstanding vocal talents, Johnny Clarke has never achieved the international acclaim of some of his compatriots, and he even fell from favor in his homeland in the 1980s. However, in his heyday, during the mid- through late '70s, the singer recorded a stream of crucial cuts, as well as a bundle of seminal albums. Clarke has also had an inestimable impact on the dancehall scene, which in his day was still the preserve of DJs. His ability to write new lyrics, mostly in a cultural vein, to classic rocksteady hits opened the dancehall door for vocalists, and most critics acknowledge him as the first of the dancehall singers.★ Janet Kay★ Lorna Gee★ Megumi Mesaku aka Miss Megoo★ Dub Asante Band★ Reggae Fraternity UKFull line-up will be announced very soon.████ MAIN ARENA ████This year’s Main Arena will have plenty of brand new entertainment on offer.
