Love Carnival is back and this time we’re going north of the river to one of our favourite spaces in the capital, Five Miles. Bringing more tropical goodness with DJ Jigüe, the Cuban mastermind behind Gilles Peterson’s latest Havana Cultura project, Colombian label boss DJ Galletas Calientes and Diva, we can’t wait to set the vibes right with one the best sound systems around!
A veteran of the Cuban hip hop scene, DJ Jigüe’s experimentations with electronic music weave traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms and elements of jazz and hip hop with pounding beats in a style he calls tropical afrofuturism. Sure to be donning his signature cowboy hat we’re extremely excited to welcome this afrofuturistic space guajiro for his first solo London show.
DJ Galletas Calientes heads up the Colombian record label of the same name, bringing a mix of global beats, digital cumbia and tropical bass alongside Diva’s dance floor ready African rhythms and soulful beats.
Room 2 details still to be revealed...
