Marcelo D2 – Full Live Band (Album Launch)

MarceloD2 jazzcafe

Marcelo D2 is back with a bang. His first time in the UK with a full live band, a new album and the full weight of the South American hip-hop community behind him.

Join us as we celebrate the UK launch of "AMAR é para os FORTES" at The Jazz Cafe.

Since his early mixing of punk rock with rap and samba with MPB, he’s been revolutionising the Brazilian hip-hop scene in his own unique way.

After becoming a breakout star thanks to 2004’s À Procura Da Batida Perfeita (released in the UK as Looking For The Perfect Beat) and its follow-up Meu Samba É Assim in 2006, Marcelo is back to show international audiences that he never really went away.

Nada Pode Me Parar marked his first full-length of original songs since 2008’s A Arte do Barulho and sees the rapper at the top of his game. Once more he has worked with original Beastie Boys producer Mario Caldato Jr to craft a new set of songs soaked in Brazilian music history with samples of tracks by Milton Nascimento, Dom Um Romão, Ivan Lins add Raul Seixas.
