Mayra Andrade + Loah

Mayra Andrade

The acclaimed young singer with 'a stunningly delicate Creole voice’ (Sunday Times) was last seen in London as the star of Gilberto Gil’s Refavela 40 show - she creates music embracing Brazilian inflections, Cuban melodies, Parisian pop, funky basslines and flamenco guitars, while never forgetting her Cape Verdean roots, to create a heady mix of sounds which feature on her forthcoming Sony album Manga.

After her success with Imagining Ireland at Barbican and Alternative Ireland at Rich Mix earlier this year, Sierra Leonean / Irish Afro-soul singer-songwriter Loah is back to open the show.
