“A classy and versatile musician, clearly a man to watch’ “(The Guardian)

“The whole history of Manding Guitar music flows through his fingers and from his lips (The FT)

“.. accomplished and tuneful…. Surely a man to watch”  (The Evening Standard)

Guinea-born, Paris-residing,  Moh! Kouyaté is one of Africa’s hottest young guitar players.  His charming onstage presence belies a true guitar talent with a sweet, almost celestial  voice.  Inspired equally by Jimi Hendrix, George Benson and Bembeya Jazz, his band has been described as an ‘African version of The Clash’.  Rock-out riffs, dirty funk and infectious swaying grooves sit side by side with sweet songs that never stray far from the traditional themes of Moh!’s Mandingo traditions.

Following his successful three day-residency at Celtic Connections earlier this year, Moh! Kouyaté returns for three UK dates performing music from his recent debut release, ‘Loundo (Un Jour)’.  Packed full of rich, lyrical songs  Moh’s music combines Mandingo traditions with his own stylish mix of blues, afrobeat, funk and jazz.
