2 For The Road Productions proudly present SKIP&DIE's first London show:
SKIP&DIE started as a collaboration between South African singer and visual artist Catarina Aimée Dahms (aka Cata.Pirata) and Dutch producer Jori Collignen. It blossomed to something very special. The album 'Riots In The Jungle' (Crammed Disc) was written on a journey through Soweto and Johannesburg, Cape Town and Guguletu which lead to collaborations with rising stars of African music. SKIP&DIE's sound is somewhere between hip-hop and tribal drums, experimental as well as something unidentifiable. These traces get us to the heart of their own experiences: the burning sun, dusty streets, cockroaches, protests, bones, skulls and white doves.
Their debut album 'Riots in The Jungle' is out in the UK on Oct 29th on Crammed Disc.
'SKIP&DIE make a bolshy good time carnival ruckus thats a bit like a less moany MIA. New single, 'Love Jihad' chucks in klezmer clarinet, all sorts of crazy bass and a clutch of hiccupping vocal stutters that hit the spot nice as ice cream on a blazing sunday' - SupaJams
