London based Funk-Jazz-Afrobeat collective THE BOOM YEH (formerly known as the "Jon Speedy Band") continue their "Root Down Sessions" residency at Brixton Ritzy with special guest - renowned singer/songwriter ABDUL SHYLLON.

THE BOOM YEH (formerly known as the "Jon Speedy Band") is a London based collective fusing Funk, Jazz, Rock, Soul, Afrobeat & more. Led by lead/rhythm guitarist & composer JON SPEEDY in collaboration with saxophonist & horn arranger IAN BAILEY, the band released it's debut E.P in May 2011 to positive reviews, receiving airplay on BBC Radio 6 & Jazz FM. Their debut album will be released Spring 2013.

Singer/Songwriter ABDUL SHYLLON hails from East London. He weaves soul, folk, jazz and alternative elements into his songwriting, with influences spanning far and wide that can be recognised with his unique approach. A regular on the London scene, he has toured internationally and has worked with Mark De Clive Lowe, DJ Spinna, Brazen Bunch & Noisettes.
