To celebrate the official launch of The London Jukebox venue and restaurant, we're joining forces with the dazzling WOMAD 2018 favourites Rafiki Jazz, on their Up Close! tour to kick things off in style!

On Sunday 21st October you're invited to come and dine, dance, or both, as together we set foot on a global adventure...

>> RAFIKI JAZZ are a nine piece band who blend native and migrant folk roots music and tell modern day stories while respecting their ancestors. Celebrating unity in diversity with their latest CD release, 'Har Dam Sahara' (Riverboat Records), Rafikian music is "a love-letter to this intricate world in all its beauty and complexity”. It features the compelling vocal quartet of Sufi Sarah Yaseen, Hebrew-Hindi singer-songwriter Avital Raz, Egyptian Coptic master-musician Mina Mikhael Salama and Senegalese griot Kadialy Kouyate at its heart.

Up Close! Is an immersive performance that reaches out with old & new songs of migrations & memories. It also offers the chance to get up close & personal with this acclaimed world music collective and their special guest young award-winning Gaelic singer Kaitlin Ross. Expect a rich masala of mesmerising music traversing continents, languages and cultures paired with hypnotically looping digital animations from award-winning Islamic geometric artist Zarah Hussain. Enchanting, soulful, and exquisite!

TALKBACK join the musicians in lively & topical conversation immediately after the show, hosted by Syima Aslam Director of Bradford Literature Festival
