Tuckshop Music has teamed up with The Jazz Cafe & Esa to curate a night of the finest sounds from further afield and beyond. We'll be welcoming Dario & Mario of Alma Negra for their debut live show alongside Mim Suleiman and her indigenous vocals finishing off with Esa's hand-picked selections.

You might know him for his work with Ata Kak, or his regular radio shows on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, the Highlife World Series or you might know him for his release on the dutch imprint Dekmantel. However you know him, Esa has become a household name in the ‘underground’ dance music scene. His DJ skills can be classified as outstanding & If you like your house music original & fresh, then you’re in the right place.

Alma Negra (Live DEBUT) - Sofrito, Basic Fingers, Highlife

For their DEBUT live show, the Swiss rhythm aficionados and Basel-based collective bring their organic and crafted rhythms with a touch of jazz and deep atmospherics to London!
The collective of brothers have become renowned for their energetic cuts and dynamic arrangements joining the dots between Disco, Gwoka, soca, Maloya and the rest with releases on Sofrito, Basic Fingers, and Highlife. Expect the live show to feature African rhythms and chants with house beats and lashings of jazz from both Dario & Mario who'll be joining us for this special show.

Mim Suleiman (Live) - Running Back, Bubble Tease Communications

African songstress and Zanzibari native Mim Suleiman will be performing her effortlessly funky futuristic afrobeat set live. A captivating performer, Mim’s sound brings together a blend of afro-beat to deep house and soul.

The Maurice Fulton collaborator has secured releases on Gerd Janson’s Running Back Records and Bubble Tease Communications. Having teamed up with house music’s true original, Maurice Fulton. Mim’s productions push the boundaries with Fulton’s tangled drums and crackling club-burning percussion with Suleiman’s powerful pipes the perfect fit for a gloriously sun-drenched, boogie, house fusion.
