THE BANDS

ERI OKAN

Afro-Brazilian Roots Drums, Dance and Song AFRICA - BAHIA - LONDON

The cultural movement grows, breathes and with each breath ideas are born. ERI OKAN: a band, an afro block, an expression of original street culture, integral to London; its roots in Samba-Reggae and the Afro-centric music of Bahia fused with Afro Beat and Jamaican Reggae.

At the core of an ERI OKAN performance is a drum section who knock out the wicked sounds of the repinique, timbau, surdo and caixa, backing up the singing and songwriting talents of Xavier Osmir (Brazil), and Marcina Arnold (UK)

OYA BATUCADA

A storming drum group with a great following in their own back yard, Birmingham, Oya Batucada has been around for the last 10 years sharing their very special Brazilian beats, carnival vibes and roots music. With the addition of a four piece horn section known as SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF XANGO and Brazilian vocalist Monica Guerra the band really mix it up.
