Playlist: Acid Coco – Con Mucho Gusto (September 2020)

We are used to compiling playlist and style guides; however, we also like to make room for those who grew up with and formed her/his music sensibility listening to those styles, and let them do the talking.

So, to introduce you to Geneva-based, but Colombian born and bred duo, Acid Coco, and celebrate the release of debut album Mucho Gusto (out on El Palmas Music), we asked Andrea and Paulo to accompany us to discover their influences and inspirations, next to their Colombian roots.

Get ready for a quick journey (in the form of a playlist) into Colombian and Latin music, from champeta to cumbia and bullerengue to salsa… in a very Acid Coco way.

The following playlist we chose is songs that have been part of our lives. Some of them since childhood, some of them through the years. Songs that evoke memories of own and strangers’ lives, ones that have influenced our love for rhythms, sounds and different genres. Songs that have accompanied us through this colorful life and songs that definitely have a direct and indirect influence on our album.
