Podcast: Radio Mukambo #472 – Afrofuturism meets Vintage Afro Sounds

Radio Mukambo takes you to Copenhagen (Denmark) to discover Nuri, an up-and-coming musician who creates his own blend of afrofuturism by combining archival field recordings from diverse African traditions with electronic beats, polyrhythmic grooves and North African trance music. His second album “Irun” is our cd of the week.

We also listen to afrobeat made in London and Budapest, Latin beat remixes, a new single by a living legend from Colombia ++ two African classics: afrobeat by Fela-disciple King Bucknor Jr and highlife by the great K. Frimpong, both albums reissued by Hot Casa Records.
