Review: Kobo Town @ Leftbank (Bristol, 22nd August 2013)
Through the doors of the Leftbank in Brstol sees a petite lounge that at first glance looks peaceful and tranquil supported with small ambiance lighting just enough to see the glow of peoples faces. Tonights tipple!? a coffee was at first thought the preferred drink of the night! but none the less i grabbed a rum and coke waited for the show to start outside on a quaint table for 2. As i saw the crowd build sipping my beverage i began to feel the energy swell, best get in! The next time i walked in the atmosphere was…. big…. as big as the Roman Colosseum on fight night, this was because of one thing only, the band Kobo Town like the name, came into town! Transported to a distant island with sweet reggae harmonies as cool as the sea breeze to keep you feeling life is bliss as seating on a beach, plus drum beats and trumpet blowing to move those hot dancing feet. another rum and coke! For a time we were out of Cheltenham road in Bristol and took to the white sands of the Caribbean. this was a special place and a special moment for all that was lucky to attend. After all that Mr Benn takes to the decks to make sure the vibes carry through the night and whoever is left on this island dances until the sun comes up. truly life was a beach this night!
