Event Preview: Dance for the Women of Afghanistan @ The Post Bar (London; Saturday 9th October 2021)

When the good ol’ friends and music lovers at Amaraterra asked for our support, we couldn’t help but jump aboard the organisation bandwagon of their upcoming charity event at The Post Bar in Tottenham.

On Saturday the 9th of October, together with a bunch of quality, far-out and eclectic London-based musical buddies, we will give life to Dance for the Women of Afghanistan, a music marathon with an important purpose. The proceedings of the event (tickets are £7 OtD) will indeed back and help to fund the work of Women for Afghan Women, a “grassroots civil society organisation dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of disenfranchised Afghan women”.

Starting at 7PM and ending late at night, the event will gather together musicians and DJs from the most diverse styles and traditions…

Fancy some heart-warming Mediterranean vibes? We have you covered with the live sets of the hosts, Amaraterra and Marina Deligianni. More into vintagy African and Latin sounds? Then Chief Commander Yaaba and DJ Lou Pino will be spinning their vinyl collections to let you move your bum and soul. Open to far-reaching notes from around the world? DJ Ritu, Vern Munday & DJ Aly Prince will broaden your musical horizons with their selections.

Out and about to finally enjoy some inspiring songwriting once again? Çiğdem Aslan and Lèa Mondo will be on stage to share their songs and mesmerise you with their talent. Up for dancing to some proper bassy bangers? Carthnage and Toya Delazy are ready to jump behind the decks and close the event with a proper global bass party.

So, what’s better than dancing all night-long to tunes from all over the world, played and performed by quality, dedicated musicians and DJs? Well, dancing for a good cause!
