Preview: 3rd Focus Africa Music Festival @ Rich Mix (London; Saturday 27th July 2019)

3rd Focus Africa Music Festival 2019

For one day, for the third year in a row, Focus Africa will dress Shoreditch in African colours. On the last Saturday of the month, from 7pm to 5am, Rich Mix will indeed revel in sounds and dances coming from all over the African continent, next to hosting food, crafts and clothes stalls.

Notes will inevitably be the protagonists of the show, thanks to the performances of the likes of Afrobeat and Afro-funk 7-piece band Femi and The InRhythms, led by Nigerian bass player Femi Sofela, or The West African Highlife Collective, reviving the Golden Age of highlife, or again Burkinabé multi-instrumentalist Koroleko Moussa Dembele, who’s bringing forward the West African griot tradition.

Standing at the DJ decks to provide you with floor-fillers until 5 in the morning, there will be DJ Snuff, Djsoulprovyder and T-Roy Broadcite with their Pan-African record collections ranging from azonto to Afro-house and kuduro to dancehall.

Welcome Africa with the Focus Africa Festival!
