Preview: Batov Records Takeover w/ S H I R A N, Sandman Project & Gypsy Hill @ Hootananny (London; Friday 9th August 2019)
On 9th August, go fully Batov Records at Hootananny, when the London-based label will take over the Brixton venue, bringing some of the best names on its roster.
Starting from Yemenite electro-pop diva S H I R A N, who will be playing her London debut on the night, presenting her groovy Arabic sound, female-empowered lyrics and namesake new album.
To enrich the line-up, there will be the talented Israeli guitarist Tal Sandman and her Sandman Project, blending together Middle Eastern vibes with Ethio-jazz and Afro-funk.
Doing the honours and playing host, there will inevitably be Batov honco DJ Kobayashi with GypsyHill. Expect an intoxicating set bubbling with Balkan, Mediterranean, North African and Oriental vibes.
