Preview: Camberwell Fair @ Camberwell Green (London, 22nd July 2017)
The legend says that everything started back in 1279 when the first Camberwell Fair took place. 700 years later, music lovers, foodies, and the local community can still enjoy a day-out on the borough’s green.
So, there’s no need to travel miles and miles out of London for a good and proper festival this July because, Wormfood, Pexmas, and Continental Drifts are bringing the party to Camberwell. On the 22nd, two stages, stands, games, and dozens of musicians will bring the South London Park to life.
Like every community event worthy of this name, there’s something to everyone’s liking. I mean, something quality. Let’s start from the Wormfood Stage… Directly from Manchester, The Mouse Outfit will bring their refined but realistic hip-hop, built on jazzy beats and Mancunian-related rhymes.
Then, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a quintessential South London artist: Afrikan Boy and his urban sound extending itself from grimes to West Africa. Also, from the Gulf of Guinea region, but mainly London based, Kakatsitsi will let their drums resonate throughout the park playing traditional rhythms and displaying their absolute musicianship.
Brighton based Lebeaux will offer a soulful and rhythmic set surely able to soothe yourself. Though, if you’re looking for more “brassy” and uptempo sounds, Tantz and Balaphonics will be there to let you shake your booty and thoughts away.
Anyway, don’t forget the Camberwell Stage, where, introduced by our very own Tash LC, some local talents like Penya, Owl Parliament Choir, and Do Dat Den will let you dance, think, and share.

To bring the Tropics to Cornwall is as complicated as it sounds, but it’s also extremely gratifying. That’s why Tropical Pressure Festival has become a music lover’s dream (whether they are project workers, volunteers, musicians or festival-goers), and that’s how, every July since 2014, the idyllic Mount Pleasant Eco Park…

Boomtown Fair is a lot of fun. It is an immersive and well-detailed festival that puts a great deal of effort into making Boomtown feel like a real town. This year, Boomtown placed participants at the final chapter of a political framework, questioning where the wealth and power between Boomtown…

A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to attend one of the highlights of the London’s music calendar: Amadou & Mariam. The Malian couple delighted the Koko audience presenting their brand new work Bofou Safou and performing an exciting sold-out gig supported by London born-and-bred hip-hop narrator Afrikan Boy. Here’s what we saw and…
