Preview: Chancha Via Circuito & DJ Raff @ Archspace (London; Friday 27th July)
It was less than a year ago when we last previewed a Chancha Via Circuito gig, but we couldn’t wait to write about him again.
Next to being one of our favourites, Buenos Aires born Pedro Canale is one of the most crowd-pleasing and talented Argentinian musicians (as well as composer, producer, DJ and remixer). Fresh from the publication of his fourth album, Bienaventuranza for Wonderwheel Recordings, he is going to enthral East London on the 27th July together with Chilean (but London-based) far-out DJ, producer and Pirotecnia label factotum DJ Raff.
The two will visit Archspace in Haggerston accompanied by their very own takes on Latin music. Chancha Via Circuito has indeed treated us to an inspired reinterpretation of the Argentinian and Andean rural soundscapes rarefied by deep bass and enriched with Afro-Latin rhythms.
DJ Raff has always had an urban perspective on his roots, blending his selection of tradition with electronica, hip-hop and funk.
Join them (and us) in London in a few days’ time and experience, revel in and dance to what South American music has to offer.
