The EFG London Jazz Festival goes fully online for its 2020 edition and among many high highlights produced by the good people at Serious is the all star band of the London jazz scene SEED Ensemble fronted by award winning alto saxophonist Cassie Kinoshi

Live streamed from The Barbican, Kinoshi’s ten strong SEED Ensemble will play the spiritual jazz of Pharoah Sanders to celebrate the mythic saxophonist’s 80th birthday. Jazz legend has it that Sanders received his name from Sun Ra, another composer who looms large on the London scene and another reference for SEED Ensemble who sonically explored Afro-futurism on their Mercury nominated 2019 album Driftglass

Expect appearances from fellow alumni of Tomorrow’s Warriors, the music education programme based out of Southbank centre who are to credit for the current health of the UK jazz scene.
