Preview: Fanfare Ciocărlia + London Afrobeat Collective, Gypsy Hill, DJ Sacha Dieu & Dat Brass @ O2 Forum Kentish Town (London, Saturday 3rd March 2018)
Last time we enjoyed one of their gigs, we went home with our feet itching from too much dancing and ears ringing because of the decibels blown by their saxophones, trumpets, tubas, and horns. There has always been something overwhelming in the way Fanfare Ciocărlia play. Since they started performing together as a band, back in 1996, their popularity has grown exponentially thanks to their loud-voiced shows, remarkable musicianship and avidity to party. So much so that, today they’ve arguably become the most celebrated Balkan brass band in the world.
As if the main course wasn’t succulent enough, Soundcrash has also put on top of the music feast, four loud and expansive supporting acts, starting with two of the most thrilling UK-based brass-driven bands: London Afrobeat Collectiveand Dat Brass. Next to them, London’s Balkan beats éminence grise Gypsy Hill, and electro-swing mover and shaker DJ Sacha Dieu.
Set March on fire in its first weekend with the incendiary sounds of Fanfare Ciocărlia!
