Preview: Khalab (LIVE), Tenesha The Wordsmith & On the Corner Sounds @ Folklore (London; Friday 28th June 2019)
On 28th June, On the Corner Records will take over Folklore in Hackney to host two of the most intriguing names on their roster. We are talking about Khalab and Tenesha The Wordsmith, two artists who, in their very own way, fully embody the spirit of the label, bringing forward its innovatory musical mission.
Both Khalab and Tanesha, who have left their own footprint on each other’s most recent releases, have dedicated their art to Afro-futurism and Afro-jazz. If the Italian DJ, producer and radio-host employs the styles in his offbeat sound, fusing African traditional rhythms with more Western-oriented and urban electronic beats, Tanesha, who will do her UK debut that night, has fuelled her poems and lyrics with her African roots, igniting them with her everyday fight against stereotypes and inequalities.
On the eve of the On the Corner set at Glastonbury Festival, join the OtC family in Hackney, and relish in the visionary talent of Khalab and Tenesha The Wordsmith.
