If “they were President”, we would be simply euphoric. We’d be living in a sweet-sounding open-minded and welcoming world where tradition and innovation merge, and urban and folksy go harmonically side-by-side.

That’s Las Cafeteras’ music world and that’s what they’ll bring to the UK between the end of July and beginning of August. The Los Angeles-based Chicano band will finally pay a visit to England with a new album to promote and plenty of good vibes to share.

London will enjoy their Afro-Mexican uplifting sound on the 2nd of August. Las Cafeteras will, indeed, cheer the Rich Mix audience with some son jarocho, zapateado dances, hip-hop rhymes, and topical lyrics. Plenty of fun guaranteed, but also plenty of food for your thoughts.

If we were you, we would vote for them.

Interview: Las Cafeteras [April 2017]

There is a time proven bond between music and reincarnation, of birth and rebirth, and of historical ancestry (Aztec soldiers, for example; who died in battle, were thought to be reincarnated into hummingbirds.)
